Numana Carnival: A Celebration of Sea and Masks

When February brings confetti, Numana also dresses up for the party. The Carnival of the Riviera del Conero village, in the province of Ancona, is a simple and genuine event, far from the grand historical carnivals of the Marche region, but capable of offering an afternoon of pure joy to families, children, and curious visitors. The setting is the promenade, with Piazzale Cavalluccio transformed into a small kingdom of masks, music, and sweets.

Numana's Carnival is primarily a celebration for the little ones: children in costume, confetti and streamers, entertainment, and traditional Carnival sweets take center stage. It's an opportunity for those who enjoy the Conero even outside the summer season to gather outdoors in a convivial atmosphere, breathing in the sea air during the quieter months of the year.

Entry and Atmosphere

The event, organized by the Municipality of Numana, offers free and open entry. Masked participation is highly recommended: it is the creativity of the costumes, worn by both adults and children, that makes each edition of this village festival overlooking the sea unique.
