The major free summer concert in the Laga Mountains
The Notte Azzurra of Tottea is the signature summer event of Crognaleto, a mountain municipality in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. The festival takes place in the small hamlet of Tottea, situated in the heart of the Gran Sasso and Laga Mountains National Park. Every year in mid-August, it brings a major free concert featuring a top-tier guest from the Italian music scene to the mountains.
Established in 2007, Notte Azzurra has grown year after year to become one of the most anticipated events of the Abruzzo summer. Admission is always completely free: the highlight of the evening features a nationally famous artist, preceded and followed by DJ sets, performances, and emerging guests who keep the village buzzing until late at night. Over the years, the Tottea stage has hosted major names in Italian pop music, capable of attracting thousands of spectators from across the region and beyond.
Notte Azzurra is much more than just a concert: it has become a virtuous example of how inland areas can reclaim the spotlight. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Tottea with the support of the Municipality of Crognaleto, the BIM Consortium, the GAL Gran Sasso Laga, the Province of Teramo, and the Abruzzo Region. Surrounding the music are food stalls showcasing local products, from Pecorino della Laga cheese to Tottea ventricina salami, in a festive atmosphere that blends entertainment with community pride.
The festivities take place in the center of Tottea, where the public gathers from the afternoon onwards among food stands and the stunning vistas of the Laga Mountains. Thanks to its free admission and family-friendly atmosphere, Notte Azzurra is suitable for all ages and is a perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Abruzzo mountains.
The 20th edition of Notte Azzurra of Tottea is scheduled for August 16, 2026, marking a symbolic milestone: twenty years of an event born in 2007 that has become one of the most anticipated dates of the Abruzzo summer.
The star of the evening will be Sal Da Vinci, fresh from his victory at the 2026 Sanremo Festival with the song "Per sempre sì" and currently on his summer tour across major Italian festivals and arenas. On August 16, the small village of Tottea will become the hub of live music, with the unmissable free admission that has always characterized the event.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Tottea with the support of the Municipality of Crognaleto, the BIM Consortium, the GAL Gran Sasso Laga, the Province of Teramo, and the Abruzzo Region, confirming Notte Azzurra's vocation to unite music, entertainment, and popular participation in the Laga Mountains.
