The travelling Marche festival dedicated to feminine thought stops in Jesi
Non a Voce Sola is one of the most recognizable cultural events in the Marche: a travelling regional festival dedicated to feminine thought and culture, which every summer brings poetry, philosophy, narrative, music, and arts encounters to the squares, theatres, cloisters, and historic courtyards of dozens of towns in the Marche region. Conceived and directed by Oriana Salvucci, the event is promoted by the Regional Council of Marche together with the Regional Commission for Equal Opportunities, with the patronage of the Marche universities (University of Macerata, University of Camerino, Polytechnic University of Marche) and the support of the participating municipal administrations.
Among the cities hosting the event is Jesi, an art city in the Vallesina valley in the province of Ancona, birthplace of Frederick II of Swabia and composer Giovan Battista Pergolesi. Here, the festival takes place in the courtyard of the Palazzo della Signoria, a Renaissance gem designed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini which houses the Planettiana Library, with a free summer evening. The format is what made Non a Voce Sola famous: a prominent national guest โ writer, philosopher, journalist, or scholar โ who dialogues with the public, often alongside writer Lucia Tancredi, on a current civil issue.
Non a Voce Sola is a true secular pilgrimage across the territory: not a single stage, but a network of events that connect the villages and cities of the Marche coast and hinterland. Each edition revolves around a fil rouge, a common thread that runs through all the encounters: after the Viriditas (the vital and regenerating force dear to Hildegard of Bingen) of the 2025 edition, the 2026 edition is dedicated to the theme "Con-being. Bodies in alliance", a reflection on relationships and bonds as an essential space for existence and democratic coexistence.
The Jesi stop is part of the rich program of Jesi Estate, which every year enlivens the Vallesina city with music, theatre, open-air cinema, and major cultural events.
The 17th edition of Non a Voce Sola, directed by Oriana Salvucci and promoted by the Regional Council of Marche with the Regional Commission for Equal Opportunities, is dedicated to the theme "Con-being. Bodies in alliance": a journey that places relationships, the care of bonds, and collective participation at the center as the foundation of civil and democratic life.
The festival, travelling through numerous towns in the Marche region from June to September, was inaugurated by a preview on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Teatro Nuova Fenice in Osimo with former magistrate Gherardo Colombo, the protagonist of the talk "The long road of rules" on the Italian Constitution.
The Jesi stop is set for Friday, September 11, 2026, in the courtyard of the Palazzo della Signoria, as part of the Jesi Estate 2026 program, with the usual format of free admission dialogue in the feminine.
The name of the guest and the title of the talk for the Jesi stop have not yet been announced. As is tradition for the festival, the evening will feature a dialogue with a prominent figure from the Italian cultural scene on a current civil issue, often in conversation with writer Lucia Tancredi. The detailed program will be announced in the weeks preceding the event on the festival's official website and in the Jesi Estate 2026 program.
