The historic free-pace walk of Brugherio
The Mulino Walk is one of the most established non-competitive walks in Brugherio, in the province of Monza and Brianza. A free-pace event open to all, it attracts over five hundred participants each year, including families, Sunday walkers, and more seasoned runners.
The event features three routes of 8, 14, and 21 kilometers, which wind through the city streets and stretches of the Brianza countryside. Along the route, there are refreshment and control points, increasing in number based on the chosen distance. The meeting and start point is the municipal Festa Area in Via San Giovanni Bosco, which also serves as the finish line.
Organized by GSA Brugherio together with the Amici della Festa di Occhiate, the Mulino Walk combines the passion for walking with a strong solidarity dimension: a portion of the fee for each participant is donated to the Run for Emma & friends association, which supports children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
With its routes alternating between city streets and the trails of the Brianza countryside, the Mulino Walk is also a way to rediscover the territory of Brugherio and its surroundings, in the province of Monza and Brianza. The event is part of the FIASP circuit of walks, with refreshment and control points along the route, but it remains open to anyone who wishes to participate at their own pace, without any competitive intent. The organization, entrusted to GSA Brugherio and Amici della Festa di Occhiate, confirms the synergy between the various local associations, which together keep alive a sporting and solidarity tradition that is now over forty years old.
The 41st edition of the Mulino Walk took place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, with registration from 7:30 AM at the municipal Festa Area in Via San Giovanni Bosco, the start and finish point. Walkers could choose between three routes of 8, 14, and 21 kilometers, traversing paved roads and country trails, served by refreshment points along the way. The participation fee was 4 euros (plus 1 euro for non-FIASP members), with a donation of 50 cents for each participant to the Run for Emma & friends association, which works against SMA.
