Italy's largest amateur team padel tournament, from the capital's clubs to the national finals
The MSP Italia Club Cup is now Italy's largest amateur team padel tournament, and its Rome and province phase represents its beating heart. Organized by MSP Rome on behalf of MSP Italiaโa sports promotion body recognized by CONIโalongside the organizing committee bringing together ACES Italia and SD Eventi, the event does not take place at a single venue but spans dozens of clubs within the Municipality of Rome and the metropolitan city, in the Lazio region. It is a formula that has set a standard: the tournament goes where the game is truly played, in neighborhood clubs, transforming an entire season into a city-wide championship.
Registered teams are divided into groups of four, with home and away matches hosted in rotation by the respective clubs. Each encounter follows a precise sequence of four matches: men's, women's, men's, and mixed, a choice that often makes the mixed doubles decisive and requires every club to field a truly complete roster. At the end of the group stage, teams advance to the playoffs, leading to the Rome and province finals.
The winners of the capital's phase then compete in the Lazio regional final against the champion teams from the provinces of Rieti and Latina, and the best ones earn a pass to the national finals, which in recent years have been held at the 747 Padel Club in Aprilia, in the province of Latina.
The Roman dimension of the Club Cup is that of a true championship: in the 2026 edition, the Rome and province phase alone saw 188 teams representing 103 clubs at the starting blocks, with over five thousand players involved throughout the season. Nationally, the tournament exceeds three thousand registered teams, distributed across Lazio, Abruzzo, Basilicata, Emilia-Romagna, Campania, Marche, Puglia, Sardinia, Tuscany, Umbria, and Veneto.
Born in 2016 within the Roman amateur padel scene, the Club Cup reached its eleventh edition in 2026, growing alongside the explosion of the sport in Italy. Lazio has dominated the national roll of honor, and in 2026 the title returned to the Capital thanks to Padel Colli Portuensi, victorious in the national final against Russi Padel. The tournament also has a distinctly inclusive vocation, with side events and initiatives dedicated to accessible padel during the finals weekend.
Those arriving at the final days find a sporting festival atmosphere rather than a professional competition: makeshift courtside stands, cheering from club teammates, families, children, and an audience that has already seen famous faces from the Roman sports and entertainment world pass by during the season. Admission to the final days is free, and for those who want to understand what padel has become in Rome, it is probably the best vantage point in the Lazio region.
The Rome and province phase opened on January 24, 2026, with the start of 47 groups of four teams, each with home and away matches hosted in rotation by the registered clubs until February 15. Each match was played using the men's, women's, men's, and mixed formula. The groups determined the qualifiers for the playoffs, which led to the final weekend in May.
On May 23 and 24, 2026, the Ponte Milvio Tennis Club, a stone's throw from the Foro Italico and the Olympic Stadium, hosted the decisive days. On Saturday morning, the Rieti provincial final was played between Padel Centro Italia and Fluo Padel; from 1 PM, the Rome and province finals in the three categories took place. On Sunday, from 9 AM to 1 PM, it was time for the Lazio regional final between the winner from Rome, the winner from Rieti, and Padel&Fit Black representing the province of Latina.
The qualifiers then reached the national finals at the end of June at the 747 Padel Club in Aprilia, in the province of Latina, with sixteen teams from ten Italian regions. The title returned to the Capital: Padel Colli Portuensi beat Russi Padel in the final, confirming the strength of the Roman amateur movement.
The group stage is held at affiliated clubs in Rome and the metropolitan city: each team plays home and away, so the schedule is distributed across dozens of different facilities, which can be consulted on the official website coppadeiclub.it. The final days in 2026 were held at the Ponte Milvio Tennis Club, just a short walk from the Foro Italico and the Olympic Stadium.
For the Ponte Milvio area: trams and buses from Piazzale Flaminio, or Metro Line A to Flaminio station followed by surface transport. By car, take the Tangenziale Est exit towards Foro Italico; parking is limited on event weekends.
Participation is reserved for teams registered through clubs: the contribution for each match is approximately 40 euros for an outdoor court and 50 euros for an indoor court, to be split among the players. For the public, admission to the final days is free.
