The Mottella Festival

The Sagra dla Mötela takes its name from Mottella, a hamlet of San Giorgio Bigarello in the province of Mantua. Now in its 31st edition, it is one of those village festivals that mark the local calendar: four evenings spanning late May and early June, at Parco Pertini, in the festival area of the Centro Sportivo Sandro Pertini, in a covered structure that provides shelter from the whims of spring weather.

Mantuan Cuisine Takes Center Stage

The heart of the festival is the food stand, open every evening with traditional Mantuan dishes. It's the genuine and abundant cuisine of village festivals, made of generous portions and communal tables, which attracts residents and visitors from all around every year. Eating together, under the park's covered structure, is an essential part of the experience.

Four Evenings of Music and Dancing

Each evening features its own show. It starts on Saturday with disco fever dedicated to hits from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s; Sunday is the turn of the Orchestra Spettacolo Maurizio Medeo, for lovers of ballroom dancing; Monday brings Nadia Nadì with her all-around music and the country group La Rasdora; Tuesday closes with the Vasco Rossi tribute by the band Bollicine and a zumba performance with instructors from the Habanita school. A program that alternates genres and generations, designed to get everyone dancing.

A Community Festival

Organized by Polisportiva S.Giorgio 90 ASD, the Sagra dla Mötela is first and foremost a community event, the result of the voluntary work of the village's sports association. Between a dish and a dance, the festival renews the bond of Mottella and San Giorgio Bigarello with its traditions every year, in one of the most anticipated events of late spring in the Mantua region.
