The traveling artisanal wine festival in the historic center of Piacenza
Mosso is the traveling artisanal wine festival of Piacenza, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. The idea is simple and original: instead of concentrating producers in a single pavilion, Mosso distributes them in the venues of the historic center — wine bars, bistros, wine shops, pubs, and cultural spaces — transforming the entire city into a large open-air tasting route. With the purchase of a single ticket, you gain access to all participating venues and are entitled to unlimited tastings at each station. It's a daytime, informal event with no dress code, from 10 AM to 7 PM: you walk from one stop to another, chat with winemakers, and discover wines by drinking well and without rush.
The project began in 2022 as a spontaneous, satellite event, running parallel to Piacenza's Fiera dei Vini (Wine Fair), the major national exhibition in November. The following year, it took the name Mosso and grew, with about fifteen events spread throughout the city and a fixed location in Piazza Cavalli. After the initial editions tied to the autumn fair calendar, Mosso reinvented itself: it moved to the spring, concentrated into two full days, and became permanently rooted in the venues of the historic center. No longer an appendix to the fair, no longer a program spread over weeks: two intense days dedicated to artisanal and natural wines.
Mosso brings together dozens of artisanal wineries, with a significant presence of producers from Piacenza alongside winemakers from Northern Italy, particularly from the Bergamo, Verona, Vicenza, and Northeast regions. Among the names that have animated the editions are key players in natural wine such as La Stoppa, La Tosa, Denavolo, Croci, and many others. It's an opportunity to meet the producers in person, understand their vineyard and cellar choices, and buy bottles directly.
Mosso Off, the program of collateral events that animates the festival days, revolves around the tastings: themed dinners with wine pairings in city trattorias, guided aperitifs, live music, vinyl selections, and DJ sets. It's the more convivial and nocturnal part of the event, designed to extend the celebration beyond the tasting hours.
Organized by Tomato and 1000ml with the support of the Piacenza Merchants Association and the collaboration of the Municipality of Piacenza, Mosso is also a project to promote commerce and the places of the historic center. By involving dozens of venues in a single route, the festival energizes the city and tells the story of Piacenza through its wine and hospitality.
The 2026 edition, the third in the festival's history and the first in the new spring format, brought 40 artisanal wineries to Piacenza, spread across about twenty venues in the historic center, from 10 AM to 7 PM. Alongside a strong presence of Piacenza producers, winemakers from Northern Italy attended, particularly from Bergamo, Verona, Vicenza, and the Northeast. With a single ticket, visitors could access all participating venues and enjoy unlimited tastings at each station.
40 artisanal wineries hosted in about twenty venues in the historic center (including Bottiglieria del Duomo, Rathaus, Lolly's Pizza, La Pireina, Regina dal Baffo). With the single ticket, enjoy unlimited tastings at all stations and the possibility to purchase directly from winemakers.
