Valle Maira told through the beauty of the everyday, captured by the lens of Ober Bondi
"Momenti Ordinari" is the photography exhibition by Ober Bondi hosted in Stroppo, a small municipality in the Valle Maira, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Alpine Piedmont. From June 1st to July 31st, 2026, the hall of the Cultural Center of Borgata San Martino inferiore becomes the treasure chest for a collection of images that invites you to look at mountain daily life with new eyes.
The project stems from a simple and profound idea: to stop, observe, and recognize the value and beauty hidden in everyday gestures. The photographs tell the story of an intimate and authentic Valle Maira, not as a mere landscape backdrop but as a living organism, made of details, memories, and presence. Shadows on the village stones, a coffee left on a wooden table, children playing on the church square, the profile of a tree bent by the wind: these are the "ordinary moments" that Ober Bondi's lens transforms into small revelations.
The choice of black and white is not just aesthetic. The prints are created in a darkroom on cotton and baryta paper, a technique that amplifies the materiality of the subjects and strengthens the bond between photography and the Alpine environment. Each image dialogues with the local architecture and the surrounding landscape, creating an exhibition path that blends into the village that hosts it.
Borgata San Martino is located at an altitude of about 1,400 meters, on the southern side of the valley, and is the last village of the Municipality of Stroppo along the road to Elva. Its profile standing out against the sky is one of the iconic images of Valle Maira. Among the ancient streets of the village, one can find the remains of a windmill, a stone arch, the communal oven, washhouses, and public fountains, while the church dedicated to San Martino, rebuilt in 1699, dominates the settlement. It is in this setting of stone and history that the exhibition finds its most natural home.
Visiting "Momenti Ordinari" means allowing yourself a break from the frantic pace of modern life and letting yourself be accompanied on a journey made of silence, light, and anticipation. The exhibition fits into the rich tradition of Valle Maira as a land of photographers and attentive observers of the landscape and mountain communities, and represents a precious opportunity to discover one of the most authentic corners of the Cottian Alps. Admission is free, open to all those who want to rediscover the poetry of the everyday.
