Singer-songwriter music, literature, and global sounds in Rutigliano
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Minerva Art & Music Festival is one of the most anticipated late-summer events in Rutigliano, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, in the heart of Puglia. Created to promote singer-songwriter music and dialogue between the arts, every September the festival transforms Viale della Repubblica into an open-air stage where songcraft meets literature, blues, jazz, and sounds from the Mediterranean and beyond.
The Minerva formula is simple and successful: three evening concerts, all with free admission, capable of attracting a diverse and passionate audience. The lineup alternates major names from the Italian singer-songwriter scene with international artists, pairing music with literary moments and book presentations. It is precisely this multidisciplinary vocation—art and music together, as the name suggests—that distinguishes the event in the landscape of Apulian summer festivals.
The festival is organized by the Pro Loco of Rutigliano, with the support of the Regional Council of Puglia and the patronage of the Municipality of Rutigliano and the Bari Chamber of Commerce. The festival is part of the town's rich summer calendar, famous throughout the region for its terracotta whistle production and artisanal traditions, and represents a meeting point for residents and visitors alike.
Over the years, the Minerva Festival has hosted interpreters of the singer-songwriter tradition, protagonists of Neapolitan-style blues and jazz, and artists linked to world music and gypsy rhythms, often in collaboration with the literary festival Un Borgo di Libri e Canzoni. The result is a journey that combines live listening, the discovery of new books, and the pleasure of spending September evenings outdoors in a festive, community atmosphere.
Attending the Minerva Festival means experiencing Rutigliano at one of its most vibrant moments: the lights on the avenue, concerts under the stars, and the chance to explore the historic center, churches, and artisan workshops. For those visiting Puglia in September, it is an authentic way to get to know the territory of the Metropolitan City of Bari far from mass tourism.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the festival traditionally takes place in September. We recommend checking the official channels of the Pro Loco of Rutigliano for updates.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Minerva Art & Music Festival have not yet been released. Based on previous editions, the event is expected in September in Rutigliano, with three evenings of free-admission concerts. Updates will be published by the Pro Loco of Rutigliano.
