Two days of full Middle Ages within the walls of Corinaldo
Millenarja - Scenes of Medieval Life is the historical reenactment that every year, around mid-August, turns back the clock in the historic center of Corinaldo, a splendid walled village in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and awarded the Orange Flag by the Touring Club. For two days, the alleys, squares, and famous staircases of the town come alive with scenes of medieval daily life, in an atmosphere that engages residents and visitors alike.
The event is conceived and curated by the Associazione Araba Fenice (Araba Fenice Association), a historical group from Corinaldo of flag-wavers and drummers with extensive experience gained from international reenactments. From this background, the idea was born to celebrate the history of their village with an event that focuses on the culture, entertainment, and popular traditions of the territory.
The village comes alive with scenic installations scattered in the most evocative corners of the historic center. Among the recurring offerings of the event:
The most anticipated moment is the grand evening performance entrusted to the Araba Fenice Flag-wavers and Drummers, which combines flag choreography, music, and storytelling in a suggestive setting. Over the years, the company has staged original themed shows, capable of combining the technical discipline of flag-waving with emotionally impactful dramaturgy.
What makes Millenarja unique is the village itself: the imposing fifteenth-century walls, considered among the most intact in the Marche region, the famous Piaggia with its staircase, and the legendary Pozzo della Polenta (Well of Polenta) serve as a natural backdrop for the reenactment. A walk through the alleys of Corinaldo during the event is already a journey back in time, enriched by the costumes, sounds, and lights of the festival.
The new edition of Millenarja - Scenes of Medieval Life is confirmed for Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17, 2026 in the historic center of Corinaldo (AN). As per tradition, the walled village will host the medieval market, taverns with local products, shows by jesters and musicians, combat demonstrations, fire shows, and performances by the flag-wavers and drummers of the Araba Fenice Association. The detailed program, including times, guest companies, and the evening show, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event on the website arabafenicecorinaldo.it and on social media channels.
