Seven days when the entire city lights up with contemporary art
For a week, Milan (Municipality of Milan, Lombardy) becomes one single, immense, widespread gallery: it's Milan Art Week, which in 2026 celebrates its tenth edition from April 13 to 19. Promoted by the Municipality of Milan, the event coordinates and networks the city's cultural offerings dedicated to contemporary, modern, and visual art.
The program connects over 260 entities โ institutions, museums, foundations, universities, independent spaces, and galleries โ with more than 490 events distributed throughout the urban fabric. The main hubs that define the spirit of the week are Palazzo Reale, the Museo del Novecento, Pirelli HangarBicocca, and the Fondazione Prada, along with MUDEC, Triennale Milano, and numerous other organizations.
From April 17 to 19, miart, the international fair of modern and contemporary art, returns for its thirtieth edition with the title New Directions: miart, but different. For the first time in Milan, Paris Internationale also arrives, from April 18 to 21 at Palazzo Galbani. Among the featured artists of the week are names like Maurizio Cattelan, Anselm Kiefer, Mona Hatoum, Cao Fei, and Hito Steyerl, alongside a strong Italian presence.
