The patronal feast of San Vitale between late April and early May, in the Bassa Padovana region
In Megliadino San Vitale, a municipality in the Bassa Padovana region of the Province of Padua, the patronal festival is the most anticipated event of the year. Dedicated to the patron saint San Vitale (celebrated on April 28th), it takes place between late April and the first few days of May, drawing residents and visitors from the surrounding areas to celebrate local traditions.
The heart of the festival is the food stand offering local specialties, alongside a pizzeria that welcomes an exceptional guest, Gianni Calaon, a six-time world pizza champion. Evenings alternate between DJ sets and live music, featuring an eagerly awaited tribute to 883 by the tribute band 'Rotti per Caso'.
The program isn't just about food and music: there's the amateur football tournament, a parade by the civic band of Lendinara with historical vehicles, the exhibition of vintage tractors, and performances by the historical flag-wavers and musicians group from Megliadino San Vitale. The village also hosts a hemp museum, which tells the story of the cultivation and processing of the fiber in the area. Organized by the Pro Loco of Megliadino San Vitale, the festival combines celebration, identity, and peasant memory.
The 2026 edition of the Megliadino San Vitale Festival is split into two parts, from April 24th to 26th and from April 30th to May 3rd. As the patronal feast of San Vitale, it centers around the food stand with local specialties and a pizzeria featuring guest Gianni Calaon, a six-time world pizza champion. Evenings alternate between DJ sets and live music, with a tribute to 883 by the band 'Rotti per Caso'. Also scheduled are the amateur football tournament, a parade by the civic band of Lendinara with historical vehicles, and an exhibition of vintage tractors.
The detailed program for each evening will be published by the Pro Loco of Megliadino San Vitale closer to the event.
