Carnivorous plants take centre stage in Mira
The Meeting AIPC is the national gathering of the Italian Carnivorous Plant Association, hosted at Villa Contarini-Pisani, known as Villa dei Leoni, in Mira, in the province of Venice. For an entire weekend, the villa's spaces host exhibitions of carnivorous plants, from Dionaea to Sarracenia, from Nepenthes to Drosera, with collections from all over Italy.
Market, competitions, and education
The Meeting brings together the main European suppliers in a specialized market, accompanied by conferences, practical demonstrations, and the eagerly awaited Carnivorous Plant Olympics, the competition that awards the most beautiful specimens. There is also an auction, a lottery, and a social dinner for members, by reservation.
An event for everyone
Designed for both expert collectors and the simply curious, the AIPC Meeting is an opportunity for botanical education suitable for families too. Admission is free, and the setting of the Venetian villa overlooking the Naviglio del Brenta makes the visit even more evocative.
Meeting AIPC — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the AIPC Meeting takes place on June 13 and 14 at Villa Contarini-Pisani (Villa dei Leoni) in Mira, from 10 am to 7 pm on both days, with free admission.
The programme includes exhibitions of carnivorous plant collections, competitions with the Carnivorous Plant Olympics, a market of European suppliers (with a list of vendors published on the website), conferences and practical demonstrations, an auction, and a lottery. A social dinner for members is planned, by reservation.

How to get there
Villa dei Leoni is located at Riviera Silvio Trentin 5 in Mira (VE). By car: A57 motorway (Mira/Oriago exit) or A4 (Spinea exit), with free parking at the rear near the Mirasole shopping centre. By bus: ACTV line 53E from Venice Piazzale Roma, Mestre, and Padua, "Alighieri" stop. By train: Mira Buse station (Venice-Adria line) about 1 km away.
Opening hours and admission
The villa is open from 10 am to 7 pm on both days. Free admission. The social dinner is by reservation.
