Italy's longest-running antique book and print fair
Mantua Books Maps Prints is Italy's oldest market exhibition dedicated to antique books, maps, and prints. Established in 1975, its continuity makes it a historic benchmark in the sector, alongside major European fairs in Paris, London, and Amsterdam.
The fair is held in the evocative Cloister of the Francesco Gonzaga Diocesan Museum, overlooking Piazza Virgiliana in Mantua. Among the stalls of over fifty exhibitors, you can find incunabula, 16th-century books, antique maps, atlases, prints, and original engravings from the 16th to the 19th century, as well as a wide selection of collectible papers.
The 2026 edition brings together over 55 antique booksellers and print dealers from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and other countries. For collectors, scholars, and the simply curious, it's an opportunity to browse and purchase rare items, as well as to admire a paper heritage of great historical and artistic value for free.
In a UNESCO World Heritage city like Mantua (Province of Mantua), a land of printers and great libraries, the antique book fair finds its ideal setting. The venue in the cloister of the Diocesan Museum, a short walk from the historic center, adds charm to an event that combines antique trade and cultural dissemination.
