Tastings of Lugana DOC on the shores of Garda
Lugana is a white DOC wine produced in the southern area of Lake Garda, straddling the provinces of Brescia and Verona, on clayey morainic soils. Sirmione, in the province of Brescia, is one of the symbolic municipalities of the appellation, and every spring it hosts the Lugana Festival, dedicated to the discovery of this highly appreciated and awarded wine in Italy.
The festival offers Lugana tastings along the lake shores and in the historic centre of Sirmione, providing an opportunity to sample the wine's different interpretations in an exceptional landscape setting, between the Sirmione peninsula, the Grotte di Catullo, and the waters of Garda.
The events are concentrated in spring, when Sirmione experiences one of its best periods: mild climate, fewer crowds, and a calendar of events that makes the Lugana Festival one of the municipality's top food and wine events. The event helps to enhance the link between the Brescia Garda territory and its prestigious wine production.
The Lugana Festival returns to Sirmione in May 2026 with Lugana DOC tastings along the shores of Lake Garda. According to preliminary announcements, the events are concentrated on Saturdays in May, with sessions in the historic centre and on the lakefront.
Among the highlighted dates: Saturday, May 9th in the historic centre (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM), Saturday, May 16th on the lakefront (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM), and Saturday, May 23rd on the lakefront (2:30 PM - 4:00 PM). The complete program, including participating producers and booking methods, will be published on the Visit Sirmione tourist portal in the weeks before the event.
