About Liberation Day

For Liberation Day, the Municipality of Rubano organizes a civil commemoration ceremony with the laying of wreaths at the Monument to the Fallen and the Monument to Peace. A morning of remembrance with the participation of civil, military, and religious authorities and the youngest, who testify to the value of the Resistance for new generations.

Remembering April 25th

Liberation Day is the civil holiday with which the Municipality of Rubano, in the province of Padua, celebrates the anniversary of Italy's liberation from Nazism. The ceremony takes place between two symbolic locations in the town: the Monument to the Fallen, in Piazzale ex Casa del Fascio, and the Monument to Peace, in Piazza della Repubblica.

A Participatory Ceremony

The program includes the laying of laurel wreaths, the flag-raising ceremony, and greetings from civil, military, and religious authorities. A particularly significant moment is dedicated to the youth: students from the local primary schools present their work, transforming the commemoration into an opportunity to pass on historical memory to new generations.

A Community Event

Citizens are invited to participate and are encouraged to display the Italian flag. Liberation Day in Rubano is thus a moment of collective reflection, where the community reaffirms the values of freedom, democracy, and peace.
