The white night of music and art in the Etnean village of Pedara
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Le Notti delle Note, also known as the Music Festival, is the white night that transforms the historic center of Pedara—a town in the Metropolitan City of Catania resting on the slopes of Mount Etna—into a grand open-air stage every summer. This free, widespread event weaves together live music, visual arts, and street performances throughout the village's streets and squares, even involving museums and shops that stay open late into the night.
For two evenings, from 7:00 PM until midnight, Pedara fills with sound, color, and performance. The program embraces many forms of expression: live bands, singer-songwriters, choirs, DJ sets, and buskers animate the corners of the town, while street artists—jugglers, fire-eaters, performers, and dancers—bring the show directly to the public. The visual arts are also well-represented, with painters, sculptors, and artisans exhibiting and creating their works along the route.
The event is organized by the Centro Commerciale Naturale Ara di Giove in partnership with local Pedara merchants and in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Pedara. More than just a concert series, Le Notti delle Note was born as an open stage for creativity, a space where every artist—professional or emerging—becomes a protagonist and where the community gathers in the streets of their own town. It is one of the most cherished highlights of the Pedara summer, effectively promoting local businesses and the heritage of the historic center.
Located at an altitude of approximately 600 meters on the southern slopes of Mount Etna, Pedara is a town in the province of Catania, Sicily, known for the cool climate of its summer evenings and its tradition of public festivals. The white night of Le Notti delle Note is part of a rich summer calendar that includes fairs, festivals, and popular gatherings, making it the ideal occasion to discover the Etnean village in a lively and familiar atmosphere.
The event is traditionally held towards the end of August: past editions took place at the end of August (August 30-31, 2025; August 25-26, 2023; and previously documented in 2018). For the 2026 edition, the event is expected in August, but the exact dates have not yet been officially announced: it is recommended to check the organization's social media channels for program confirmation.
For 2026, the Centro Commerciale Naturale Ara di Giove and the Pro Loco of Pedara are once again expected to be the protagonists of a new edition of Le Notti delle Note, the white night of music and art in the Etnean village. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced: the event is traditionally scheduled towards the end of August. As in previous editions, the historic center of Pedara is expected to host live bands, singer-songwriters, choirs, DJ sets, buskers, street artists, painters, sculptors, and artisans, with free admission from 7:00 PM until midnight. For confirmation of dates and the program, please refer to the organization's official channels.
Pedara is located on the slopes of Mount Etna, in the province of Catania. By car from Catania, it can be reached in about 25-30 minutes via the SP4/Via Etnea in the direction of the Etnean towns (Trecastagni, Nicolosi). The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa, about 20 km away.
The evenings enliven the historic center of Pedara, with the epicenter in Piazza Don Diego and the surrounding streets. It is advisable to park on the outskirts of the center and continue on foot along the event route.
Free admission. Performances generally take place from 7:00 PM until midnight. As this is an outdoor evening event, a light sweater is recommended for the cool evenings typical of the Etna area.
