The Late Summer Evenings mark the end of the summer season in Sala Bolognese, a municipality in the plain northwest of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna. Organized by the Tourist Association Pro Loco of Sala Bolognese, active in the area since 1981, the event takes place over three consecutive evenings—from Friday to Sunday—during the last weekend of August.

The formula is that of traditional Emilian folk festivals: food stalls run by volunteers, music, and entertainment, in a family atmosphere where locals and visitors from surrounding areas gather. It is one of those occasions when the community comes together outdoors in the last evenings of summer, before the autumn resumption.

The heart of the festival is the Pro Loco's food stalls, offering the flavors of Bolognese tradition and typical local festival dishes—crescentine, grilled items, and homemade specialties prepared by volunteers. Sala Bolognese is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, located in the plain between the Reno and Samoggia rivers. Its Pro Loco is a vibrant presence in the local calendar, with events marking the entire year: from the June Fair to the San Martino Feast in November, including summer events in the park of Villa Terracini, in the hamlet of Osteria Nuova, where the association regularly manages catering for outdoor events. The Late Summer Evenings are part of this tradition of volunteerism and local promotion, helping to keep alive the sense of community that characterizes the small towns of the Bolognese plain.
