La Gloria della Croce is one of the most heartfelt expressions of popular religious devotion in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, a town in the Metropolitan City of Catania nestled on the Ionian coast at the foot of Mount Etna. It is an itinerant sacred play that, during Lent in preparation for Holy Week, retraces the key moments of the Passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through the streets of the historic center.

The event transforms the squares and streets of Fiumefreddo into a vast open-air stage. Actors and extras, mostly local residents, bring the evangelical scenes to life with costumes, music, and lighting that guide the audience along the path. The itinerary unfolds through the heart of the old town, with stops at symbolic community landmarks:
