La Fanòve

In 2025, Acquaviva delle Fonti once again celebrated the Fanòve, the propitiatory bonfire in honor of Maria SS. di Costantinopoli, the town's patron saint. The event, traditionally held on the second Tuesday of March, preceded the patronal feast by one week.

The evening followed the ritual passed down through generations: religious services with the distribution of blessed bread, the parade of the «Cima Cima» through the town, the torchlight procession to Piazza dei Martiri, and finally the lighting of the great bonfire with fireworks. Around the fire, between panzerotti and wine, the people of Acquaviva shared one of the most heartfelt evenings of the year, in the spirit of faith and Puglian folk tradition.
