The Shakespearean summer that leaves the theatre and crosses Verona, city of Romeo and Juliet
Juliet Summer Fest is the summer Shakespearean festival organized by Casa Shakespeare in Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet. The event takes theatre outside conventional venues, conquering the historic center and the city's walls, where young actors perform the most famous scenes from the Shakespearean tragedy.
The festival accompanies the public through the symbolic places of Verona with live and streaming performances. Initiatives include travelling performances involving students from Veronese schools and young people from the Casa Shakespeare company, and theatrical walks "Walking with Romeo and Juliet", with access to the Shakespeare Interactive Museum.
The heart of the project is the involvement of new generations: students and young actors, selected through casting, become protagonists of the scenes from Romeo and Juliet, in a journey that combines training, theatre, and the enhancement of the city's heritage.
Part of the broader annual project "Shakespeare 2026" promoted with the Municipality of Verona, Juliet Summer Fest helps make the Scaliger city a reference point for Shakespearean culture, intertwining theatre, tourism, and identity in the name of the most famous love story of all time.
The 2026 edition of Juliet Summer Fest, the XII, enlivens Verona's summer with Casa Shakespeare's widespread Shakespearean theatre, within the annual "Shakespeare 2026" project. Young actors and students from Veronese schools perform scenes from Romeo and Juliet in the city's symbolic locations and along the walls.
Among the events are the travelling performances of the "Giulietta & Romeo Re Life" project and theatrical walks with access to the Shakespeare Interactive Museum. The complete schedule will be announced by Casa Shakespeare in the preceding months.
The complete program for the XII edition will be announced by Casa Shakespeare on their official channels. Scheduled events include:
