The national living lab for collaborative innovation arrives in Ostra
Jazz'Inn is the traveling tour for collaborative innovation promoted by the Fondazione Ampioraggio, active since 2017. It is not a music festival, despite the name recalling jazz: it is an open innovation living lab that each year chooses an Italian territory and transforms it for a few days into a capital of widespread innovation. The idea is simple and powerful: innovation is not just technological development, but the ability to think and generate the future together, putting people, relationships, and collective intelligence back at the center.
In 2026, Jazz'Inn turns ten years old and celebrates its tenth anniversary with an unprecedented two-stop formula: the Municipality of Ostra, in the heart of the Vallesina in the province of Ancona, hosts the summer event from June 29 to July 3, while Rome hosts the national closing from November 9 to 13. It is the first time the tour combines a village in inland areas with a metropolitan city, to build concrete bridges between small towns and large cities. Ostra is the Foundation's first partner Municipality and becomes, for the occasion, a true demo smart lab, where technological solutions designed to reduce the isolation of inland areas are made available.
The core of Jazz'Inn is the widespread open innovation laboratory: a mechanism that brings together "Case Givers" โ subjects, companies, or entities that bring a concrete problem or a project to be developed โ with innovators, startups, SMEs, micro-enterprises, teams of aspiring entrepreneurs, and institutions, to find applicable solutions. The sectors at the center of the working groups range from agritech to sustainable tourism, from circular fashion to cultural heritage, from mobility to energy, up to digital healthcare, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, IoT, blockchain, and augmented reality. Between 600 and 900 participants from all over Italy are expected in Ostra.
The 2026 edition revolves around the theme "Augmented Humanity. People Beyond Technology": the idea that technology cannot be the end goal of human progress, but must remain a tool at the service of the person. A common thread that runs through the working groups, meetings, and public discussions over the five days in Ostra.
For those living in the Marche region and for those involved in innovation, territorial regeneration, and new economies of inland areas, Jazz'Inn in Ostra is a rare opportunity: a national event that brings administrators, researchers, and entrepreneurs from all over Italy to a village in the Marche region, in an atmosphere of shared planning that values the territory and its traditions.
For its tenth anniversary, Fondazione Ampioraggio chooses a two-stop formula: Ostra (AN) from June 29 to July 3 and Rome from November 9 to 13, 2026. Ostra, the Foundation's first partner Municipality, becomes a demo smart lab where technological solutions are tested to reduce the isolation of inland areas. Between 600 and 900 participants from all over Italy are expected.
The event is organized by Fondazione Ampioraggio with the support of the Marche Region and the Municipality of Ostra.
The event in Ostra opens on the afternoon of June 29 with "Mothers of Peace. Building Peace, Sowing Hope", a live connection from Palestine with a Palestinian mother and an Israeli mother, both witnesses to the loss of their respective children in war. The meeting, strongly desired by the Foundation's president Giovanna Ruggiero, is broadcast with simultaneous translation.
The core of the event is the widespread open innovation laboratory: "Case Givers" (companies and entities that bring a problem or project) meet innovators, startups, SMEs, micro-enterprises, and teams of aspiring entrepreneurs to build concrete solutions. The working groups address sectors such as:
Enabling technologies at the center of the discussion: artificial intelligence, IoT, blockchain, and augmented reality. Ostra also functions as a demo smart lab, providing administrators from all over Italy with replicable solutions for their respective territories.
Fifty projects have been admitted, selected by Fondazione Ampioraggio, in addition to ten projects indicated by the Municipality of Ostra. Applications closed on May 31, 2026.
The concluding event is held in Rome, at the Acquario Romano, marking the first participation of a metropolitan city in the tour, completing the dialogue between villages and large cities.
Ostra (AN), in the historic center of the village, in the province of Ancona, Marche. Rome, Acquario Romano, for the concluding event in November.
By car: from the A14, Senigallia exit, then SS16 and provincial roads towards the Vallesina inland. By train: Senigallia station on the Adriatic line, then bus connections to Ostra.
Participation in the working groups is by application and pre-registration on the Fondazione Ampioraggio website. Some public events are free to attend.
