The "Sanremo of Dance" at Maxi Dancing Tris in Terre Roveresche
The Italia Musica National Compilation is the event that the local press has aptly renamed the "Sanremo of Dance": a single, grand evening where the best Italian dance music groups take turns on stage to present their songs and choreography. The stage is the Maxi Dancing Tris, in the locality of Schieppe (a hamlet of Orciano) in Terre Roveresche, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, one of the historic dance halls of the Marche hinterland.
About twenty groups from all over Italy perform on stage, with a repertoire ranging from ballroom music to dance pop, from couple dances to group dances, and Latin rhythms. Each edition features over forty artists, accompanied by a live orchestra that provides the musical backdrop for the evening, and a celebrity presenter from the television world who hosts and enhances the event. Over the years, very well-known presenters have graced the event, a sign of the growing popularity of the festival.
The Compilation is organized by the Associazione Musicale Primavera (Spring Musical Association), founded and chaired by Sergio Boldorini, with the patronage of the Municipality of Terre Roveresche, the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, and the Marche Region. Institutions have recognized dance music as an authentic part of the local and regional cultural heritage: ballroom music here is not just entertainment, but a living popular tradition that spans generations. It's no coincidence that the evening attracts a very large audience, with over two thousand spectators in the most popular editions.
For dance lovers, it's an opportunity to see artists and orchestras gathered in one evening who usually only meet in dance halls across half of Italy; for the simply curious, it's a dive into one of the most deeply rooted traditions of Marche and Romagna popular culture. The atmosphere is that of the warm and familiar large dance parties, with the dance floor always crowded and the audience participating until late at night.
The eighth edition of the "Sanremo of Dance" confirmed Maxi Dancing Tris in Terre Roveresche as the ballroom music capital of the Marche region. The hosting duties were entrusted to presenter Anna Falchi, a well-known face on Italian television and cinema.
