Edition 2025 — Illica Sheep Festival

The 2025 edition of the Illica Sheep Festival took place on Sunday, August 17, in Accumoli, in the province of Rieti. Nine years after the 2016 earthquake, the festival brought the village community together: at 10:30 AM, the solemn mass in honor of Saint Vincent Ferrer was held, followed by the opening of the food stands. The star was the pecora al callaro, along with arrosticini, fresh ricotta, local cheeses, and craft beer from Accumoli, accompanied by live folk music.

2025 Edition

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, the village of Illica di Accumoli (Rieti) hosted a new edition of the Sheep Festival, organized by the Illica APS Association. The day began at 10:30 AM with a solemn mass in honor of Saint Vincent Ferrer; from 12:30 PM, the food stands opened.

On the menu were traditional pastoral recipes: pecora al callaro, mezze maniche with sheep ragù, arrosticini, fresh ricotta, locally sourced cheeses, craft beer from Accumoli, and gelato from Amatrice, prepared in collaboration with chefs from the Italian Federation of Chefs. The festival, accompanied by live folk music and the opening of the museum of peasant arts and traditions, proved to be a moment of community and rebirth for the Laga territory.
