Digital enters the Sassi

ICT Fest is one of the reference events for the technology sector in Southern Italy: a full day dedicated to technological innovation, cybersecurity, and professional networking that brings business leaders, engineers, researchers, and telecommunications operators to Matera. The venue is no coincidence: Casa Cava, on Via San Pietro Barisano, is an auditorium carved into an ancient tuff quarry in the heart of the Sassi, with acoustics and underground architecture that provide a spectacular backdrop for the proceedings.

Topics: from cybersecurity to quantum

The program alternates between strategic panels and technical workshops on the major current topics: the state of cybercrime and "collect today, decrypt tomorrow" threats, artificial intelligence applied to intelligence and business, IT/OT convergence, multi-tenant cloud, supply chain security, quantum networks, and wireless and FTTR connectivity solutions for inland areas. Speakers from academia and industry, from internet interconnection consortia to universities and major software houses, take turns on stage.

Networking and digital community

In addition to content, ICT Fest focuses on relationships: the event is designed as a meeting point for the Italian technological ecosystem, where companies, professionals, and digital sector stakeholders build collaborations. The community surrounding the festival makes videos, slides, and intervention materials available even after the event.

Matera, also a capital of innovation

Hosted in a city that will be the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue in 2026, ICT Fest showcases a Matera that looks to the future: not just a UNESCO heritage site and cinema, but also a digital skills laboratory for Southern Italy, in dialogue with the Municipality of Matera and the Lucanian production fabric.
