Edition 2025 — Hortus
The 2025 edition of Hortus celebrated the garden care practiced by the Poor Clares of the Monastery of Santo Stefano, on the Hill of the Infinite in Recanati, with a particular focus on traditions and ancient crafts. Among the day's activities were the tours 'Life in the Convent: Memories and Tales of Ordinary Simplicity' (11 AM and 4 PM) and 'The Gardener Tells' (3 PM), a meeting with Benedictine nuns from Sant'Anna di Bastia Umbra (12 PM), a talk by Tommaso Lucchetti on 'Arts and Gardens Between Workshop and Refectory' (5 PM), and one by Fabio D'Orazio on monastic melodies (6 PM). There were also practical demonstrations of lavender harvesting and processing, and sourdough preparation, accompanied by a market featuring fruit trees, local varieties, natural cosmetics, essential oils, herbal distillates, cooked wine, and baked goods.
