The GT3 endurance race in the Temple of Speed
The GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS is one of the leading championships for GT3 cars, and the 3 Hours of Monza event is one of its most anticipated fixtures. Hosted by the Monza National Autodrome, in the heart of Brianza, the race opens the Endurance Cup and features over fifty cars from ten manufacturers, including BMW, Audi, Ferrari, McLaren, and Lamborghini.
The endurance format, with crews taking turns at the wheel over three hours, offers continuous spectacle with overtakes, pit stop strategies, and dramatic twists. The Monza circuit, with its long straights and braking zones pushed to the limit, is a tough test for GT3 cars, and each year the race delivers hard-fought battles down to the final lap in front of tens of thousands of spectators.
The Monza weekend isn't just about the 3 Hours: the program also includes support races like the McLaren Trophy Europe, GT2, and GT4 European Series, totaling over 130 cars in action. For the public, access to the paddock and Fan Zone is free, a rare opportunity to get up close to the cars and teams. An event that confirms Monza as the capital of motorsport, capable of attracting fans from all over Italy and Europe.
The 2026 edition of the 3 Hours of Monza took place from May 29-31, with practice and qualifying sessions on the days preceding the race. The grid featured over fifty GT3 cars from ten manufacturers, with great anticipation for Valentino Rossi, competing in the #46 BMW for Team WRT. The race, which started on Sunday afternoon, was held over three hours in front of over 43,000 spectators.
