The Carnival of San Giovanni in Marignano in Piazza Silvagni
The Gran Carnevale Insieme is the Carnival celebration of San Giovanni in Marignano, a charming village in the Valconca known as the "granary of the Malatesta," in the province of Rimini, in Emilia-Romagna. Every year, during Carnival, the central Piazza Giuliantonio Silvagni transforms into a large festive space dedicated mainly to children and families.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco San Giovanni in Marignano with the patronage of the Municipality and is part of the rich calendar of initiatives that liven up the town throughout the year, alongside famous events like "La Notte delle Streghe" (The Night of the Witches). The event has reached its thirtieth edition, a sign of a deep connection with the local community.
The afternoon begins with the parade of masks, where adults and children can show off their most beautiful and original costumes. The program includes many activities designed for the younger audience:
Typical Carnival flavors are not missing, with fritters, chiacchiere (a type of fried pastry), and other seasonal sweets. The most anticipated moment is the grand finale with the candy and confetti toss, which closes the festival in an explosion of colors and joy. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is simple and family-friendly, perfect for experiencing Carnival together.
