The summer classical music festival at Parco di Tor Marancia, Rome
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Great Classical Music Under the Stars is the summer festival that the Roma Tre Orchestra Association dedicates to classical music in the Parco di Tor Marancia, a vast green area in the Municipio VIII of the City of Rome, in Lazio. With an entrance from Largo Pietro Bargellini, the park transforms for several evenings a year into an open-air stage where orchestral, operatic, and chamber music meet the city's audience in an informal and welcoming atmosphere, far from the formality of a concert hall.
The festival's program spans the entire history of great music, from the Baroque repertoire to 19th and 20th-century composers. Each edition offers multiple daily events, featuring symphonic concerts by the Roma Tre Orchestra, opera galas dedicated to the most famous arias of the melodrama, chamber music evenings, and musical-theatrical performances. Alongside the great names of the past, young soloists, singers, and instrumentalists take the stage, in a formula that combines education with artistic quality.
The festival was born with the goal of bringing a wide audience closer to classical music and enhancing the cultural and landscape heritage of Tor Marancia. Promoted as part of the cultural initiatives supported by Roma Capitale in collaboration with Zรจtema Progetto Cultura, it is one of the experiences that brings great music into the neighborhoods, with free admission evenings designed for families, enthusiasts, and curious newcomers alike.
Founded within the Roma Tre University, the Roma Tre Orchestra is one of the most active musical entities in the capital, committed for years to the dissemination of classical music and the growth of young performers. With this summer festival, the association complements its concert season with an open-air event that makes accessibility and quality its hallmarks.
Attending a concert under the stars at Tor Marancia means experiencing Rome from a different perspective: great music leaves the halls and reaches a city park, in summer evenings that combine the beauty of the classical repertoire with the charm of a green space. A simple and free opportunity to discover live music, suitable even for those approaching this world for the first time.
