The Pro Loco for the environment

The Giornate Ecologiche Pro Loco are a regional event dedicated to the ecological initiatives promoted by the network of affiliated Pro Loco (local associations). In Matera, the event is held at Colle Timmari, an area of great naturalistic and archaeological value overlooking Lake San Giuliano, organized by the Ente Pro Loco Basilicata APS in collaboration with the Associazione Verde Colle Timmari.

Sustainability and volunteering

The initiative is part of the annual calendar of the Ente Pro Loco Basilicata, presented by the regional president Rocco Franciosa: over a dozen events distributed throughout the year, with particular attention to environmental sustainability, enhancement of cultural heritage and involvement of local volunteers. The Giornate Ecologiche combine care for the territory, awareness-raising and community participation.

The choice of Colle Timmari is not accidental: it is a symbolic place for the nature and history of the Matera area, where environmental activities intertwine with the rediscovery of the Lucanian landscape. An event for those who love the environment, volunteering and open spaces.
