GAIM Summer Festival

A festival with a purpose

The GAIM Summer Festival is the celebration of music, food, and solidarity that enlivens the Piazzale delle Piscine in Lumezzane, in the province of Brescia, every May. Promoted by the volunteer association GAIM - Giovani Amici in Missione, the event has for years intertwined fun with a concrete commitment to solidarity.

Music, food, and community

For three days, a large marquee set up in the square provides a backdrop for food stalls, live music, information points, and solidarity stands. The festival involves young people, families, and volunteers in an atmosphere of joy and participation, with a schedule ranging from evening concerts to daytime initiatives, such as the solidarity walk led by the CAI of Lumezzane and the vintage Vespa rally.

Solidarity between Lumezzane and Malawi

What makes the GAIM Summer Festival special is its purpose: the entire proceeds go to the GAIM missions in Malawi — including the adoption of entire classes in the Ntcheu school and support for female students facing economic difficulties — and to local assistance projects in Lumezzane. A festival that demonstrates how conviviality can turn into a gesture of generosity, creating a bridge between the Valtrompia community and the African continent.
