Design in the Furniture City

Fuorisalone On The Road is the event that, during Milan Design Week, brings design into the streets of Meda, a municipality in the Province of Monza and Brianza known worldwide for its furniture and furnishing tradition. The event is organized by AFOL Monza Brianza, with the patronage of the City of Meda and the collaboration of the Province of Monza and Brianza.

"Essere Progetto" (Being Project)

The theme of the edition, "Essere Progetto", serves as a common thread and statement of intent: design understood as a process, as a responsibility, as the ability to combine vision, skills, and community. The format is itinerant and participatory, designed precisely to take design out of traditional venues and bring it into contact with the city and its people.

A Journey Through History and Innovation

The event unfolds along a guided route that crosses the center of Meda: from Piazza Municipio to the Sala Civica Radio, along Corso Matteotti and the Salita delle Benedettine, up to Villa Antona Traversi. An itinerary that retraces the steps that have made Meda famous for design and the furniture industry, enlivened by flash mobs by students from the CFP "G. Terragni".

Training and Community

Fuorisalone On The Road involves the CFP "G. Terragni", Villa Antona Traversi, and partner companies of the "I Mestieri del Design" project. Alongside the evening route, the Minisalone at Terragni opens its workshops to students from local schools, offering an opportunity to discover training paths and products created over the years. An intertwining of design, training, and community that makes Meda, for a few days, a small capital of design.
