The Novacella Spring Concert

The Frühjahrskonzert der Musikkapelle Neustift is the most anticipated event in the musical calendar for the band of Neustift/Novacella, a village in the municipality of Varna (Vahrn), in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of the Isarco Valley (Eisacktal). Every spring, the Musikkapelle gathers its musicians on the stage of the local primary school to offer the community an evening of exceptional band music, in the finest tradition of South Tyrolean Musikkapellen.

A young band rooted in the community

The Musikkapelle Neustift is one of the most vibrant associations in the village: with an average age of just 24, it is a remarkably young ensemble consisting of over forty musicians. The artistic direction is entrusted to Kapellmeister Tobias Psaier. The band accompanies village life throughout the year, from religious processions to folk festivals, but it is during the spring concert that they truly shine, showcasing months of dedicated rehearsals.

The evening's program

The Frühjahrskonzert features a program designed to highlight every section of the ensemble: it alternates between traditional Tyrolean marches and polkas, light music, and ambitious modern symphonic pieces for wind orchestra. The concert also serves as a moment of training and growth for the village's young musicians, who are increasingly involved in the life of the band.

Neustift, Novacella, and the Isarco Valley
