Edition 2025 — Frittedda Festival

In 2025, the Frittella Festival once again brought the village of Isnello in the Madonie to life at the end of April. True to tradition, the 'frittedda' of fava beans, peas, artichokes, and wild fennel was cooked in 'quadare' and offered for free with local bread and wine to all participants, in a festive atmosphere that preceded the Santissimo Crocifisso celebrations on May 1st.

The 2025 Frittella Festival took place at the end of April in Isnello, in the province of Palermo, in the heart of the Madonie Park. As per tradition, local volunteers prepared the frittedda in quadare—large copper cauldrons—using fava beans, peas, artichokes, and wild fennel cooked in local olive oil. The dish was distributed for free with local bread and wine near the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, accompanied by a brass band through the village streets. The festival represented the opening of the SS. Crocifisso celebrations, which concluded on May 1st with the singing of the 'Frottola'.
