Edition 2025 — Frattaccio Festival

As every year, on August 8th, 2025, the Frattaccio Festival enlivened the historic center of San Biagio Saracinisco, in the heart of the Mainarde summer. The star of the show was the frattaccio, the spread and fried polenta of Apennine cuisine, accompanied by dancing, folk music, and the fireworks that traditionally close the evening. The festival brought together residents, emigrants returning for the summer, and visitors in the small village of the Comino Valley.

The 2025 festival

The 2025 edition of the Frattaccio Festival took place as per tradition on August 8th in the historic center of San Biagio Saracinisco, in the province of Frosinone. In the village of the Mainarde, at over 800 meters above sea level, the evening celebrated the fried polenta that is a symbol of local rustic cuisine, served at the stalls alongside other local flavors.

There was no shortage of the ingredients that make this festival unique: dancing and folk music, in a town famous for its bagpipers, and the final fireworks display over the rooftops of the historic center. As every summer, the festival also represented a moment of reunion for the community of Sambiagese emigrants, who returned to the village for the August festivities that culminate on the 18th with the Emigrant's Festival.
