Formaggio in Villa is the national review of the best Italian cheeses and cured meats that enlivens the walled center of Cittadella (province of Padua) every spring. Amidst the ancient streets of the fortified city, historic palaces and squares provide the backdrop for a large exhibition-market dedicated to dairy excellence, with producers from all over Italy and Europe.
Italian Cheese Awards and masterclasses
The heart of the event is the semifinals of the Italian Cheese Awards: the public becomes the protagonist, can freely taste the selected cheeses, and vote for those that will advance to the final, becoming a judge for a day. At the Torre di Malta, a program of masterclasses and tastings led by experts takes place, with pairings of cheeses, wines, spirits, and cocktails, while the Wine x Cheese area is dedicated to wines designed to enhance Italian cheeses.
A tasting journey within the walls
With over 200 companies present among exhibitors, sponsors, and suppliers, and tens of thousands of visitors expected, Formaggio in Villa is one of the most important food and wine events in the Veneto region. Admission is free, with a tasting route winding through the historic streets of the center of Cittadella.

The 14th edition of Formaggio in Villa, from April 17 to 19, 2026, brought the national review of the best Italian cheeses to the walled center of Cittadella, featuring the semifinals of the Italian Cheese Awards 2026. Hours: Friday 17 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM. The public could freely taste 100 selected cheeses and vote for the finalists. Over 70,000 visitors and more than 200 companies were expected. Free admission.

How to get there
Cittadella is served by the train station on the Padua–Bassano del Grappa line and by the SP47 Valsugana. The event takes place in the walled center; recommended parking areas are Via Verdi, Via Gabrielli, Via Dante Alighieri, Via Europa, at the station, and the Austro-Hungarian Cemetery.
