Fiocca Festival

The 2025 edition of the Fiocca Festival in Baulin, a hamlet of the Municipality of Avise, revived the unique tradition of hand-whipped cream with birch whisks in the Gran Barmé ice caves. Organized by the Pro Loco and the Comité des Traditions d'Avise in honor of Saints Peter and Paul, the festival offered guided excursions in the morning, an outdoor lunch with polenta and carbonada and other Aosta Valley cuisine dishes, and free distribution of fiocca in the afternoon. A summer event that attracts numerous visitors each year to the pastures of Valgrisenche, preserving a rural knowledge passed down since 1972.
