About Festival of Saint Anthony Abbot

In Bovolone, in the Veronese plain, the Festival of Saint Anthony Abbot and of Our Mother Earth celebrates the patron saint of animals and the rural world. A January day of tractor parades, artisan markets, regional products, community lunch, and demonstrations of peasant traditions, organized by the Confraternity of the Nostalgics of the Tabar. A tribute to the agricultural roots of the territory, between popular faith and the culture of the land.

The festival of the farmers' saint

The Festival of Saint Anthony Abbot and of Our Mother Earth is one of the most characteristic winter events in Bovolone, a municipality in the Veronese plain in the province of Verona. Dedicated to the patron saint of animals and the rural world, celebrated on January 17th, the festival combines popular devotion and the enhancement of peasant culture.

Tractors, markets, and traditions

The heart of the event is Piazzale Aldo Moro, enlivened by the artisan market, regional products, and the exhibition of tractors. Among the most anticipated moments are the tractor parade through the town streets and the community lunch, as well as demonstrations of ancient rural practices and the photographic exhibition dedicated to the peasant world.

An event shared with Concamarise

The festival is promoted by the Confraternity of the Nostalgics of the Tabar of Saint Anthony Abbot and takes place in collaboration between Concamarise and Bovolone: the morning of devotion, with mass and the blessing of animals, is held in Concamarise, while the afternoon of celebration moves to Bovolone.
