Bussolengo is dressed in roses
Every May, coinciding with Mother's Day, the historic center of Bussolengo, in the province of Verona, is transformed for the Festival of Roses. Originally known as "Festa delle Rose" (Festival of Roses) and having grown to earn the title of festival, the event celebrates the queen of flowers with a spectacular display.
A thousand plants and a hundred varieties
The heart of the event is Piazza 26 Aprile, which the Flover nursery transforms into a true open-air garden, featuring over a thousand plants and about a hundred varieties of roses from around the world: ancient, classic, modern, climbing, and shrub roses. A showcase of colors and scents that attracts gardening enthusiasts and the curious alike.
Not just flowers
Other events surround the roses: the antique market Bussolengo Antica on Saturday mornings, art exhibitions (including works by students from the Art High School), guided tours of the churches, and the Pro Loco's gastronomic stand serving risotto. The event is organized by the Municipality of Bussolengo with Flover, Confesercenti Verona, the Pro Loco, and local associations.
Festival of Roses — edition 2026
The 9th edition of the Festival of Roses enlivens Bussolengo on May 9 and 10, 2026, coinciding with Mother's Day. This is the first edition to officially adopt the name "Festival," recognizing the event's growth. Piazza 26 Aprile transforms into an open-air garden thanks to Flover, featuring over a thousand plants and about a hundred varieties of roses from around the world. On Saturday morning, starting at 8 AM, the antique market Bussolengo Antica will be held in Via Mazzini and Piazza della Libertà; on both days, the floral square opens at 9 AM, and the Pro Loco stand serves from 12 PM with risotto. Sunday features the "Commercio in Piazza" market in the town squares, art exhibitions in the gallery, and guided tours of the churches to complete the program.

How to get there
Bussolengo is located along the SR11, west of Verona. By car, take the A4 (Verona Nord exit) or the A22 Brennero motorway.
