The July parish feast in Costabissara
Every July, the parish of Costabissara, in the province of Vicenza, celebrates the Festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a feast that intertwines Marian devotion with the tradition of Venetian village festivals. The heart of the event is the parvis of the Church of Saint George the Martyr, on Via Roma, where the covered structure for the evenings is set up.
The religious core of the event is the procession in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Alongside moments of prayer, the festival offers a food stand, a charity raffle, and musical entertainment with orchestras and dancing evenings that liven up the town for several days, from Friday to Sunday.
The event is managed by the Pastoral Unit Costabissara-Motta-Maddalene, which involves volunteers from the parish communities. The festival is an opportunity to gather, support the parish's activities, and keep alive a tradition dear to the inhabitants.
The 2026 edition of the Festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel will take place in July in the courtyard of the Church of Saint George the Martyr in Costabissara. The exact dates have not yet been published.
