A festival that unites two Treia traditions
The Festival of Calcione and Raviolo is one of the most deeply rooted events in the calendar of Treia, an ancient hilltop village in the province of Macerata, in the Marche region. Born to celebrate the town's signature dish, in 2026 it reaches its 59th edition and, for the occasion, it joins forces with Fermento, the craft beer festival established in 2015 and now in its 10th edition. Two historic events that, united, transform Piazza della Repubblica and the historic center into a large open-air culinary journey.
Calcione, a De.Co. product of Treia
The calcione of Treia is a large, crescent-shaped raviolo with a characteristic cut on the top, from which the filling partially emerges during cooking. The dough combines puff pastry, pecorino cheese, wheat flour, eggs, oil, and sugar: the result is a flavor that blends sweetness with the savory and slightly spicy notes of the cheese. During the festival, food stands offer calcione in multiple variations, from ricotta and raisins to cheese, as well as indulgent versions with chocolate and cinnamon, alongside handmade Marche ravioli served with various sauces and traditional local main courses.
Fermento and craft beers
With the arrival of Fermento, the festival is enriched with dozens of types of craft beers to taste in the streets of the center, along with plenty of live music: over the years, the event has featured folk, rock, funk, and swing groups, DJ sets, and jam sessions each evening, with artists and entertainers spread across squares and alleys. The combination of the food festival and the beer festival makes the event suitable for all ages, from families to young people.

The 2026 event is scheduled from June 26th to 28th in Piazza della Repubblica and the historic center of Treia. The event is organized by the Pro Loco Treia (Pro Treia) with the patronage of the Municipality of Treia. An opportunity to discover a village that preserves one of the most charming historic centers in the Macerata hinterland and to savor a cuisine that tells centuries of Marche peasant tradition.

The 2026 edition marks the union between the 59th Festival of Calcione and Raviolo and the 10th edition of Fermento, the craft beer festival. For three days, from June 26th to 28th, Piazza della Repubblica and the historic center of Treia host food stands with calcione in multiple variations, Marche ravioli, craft beer tastings, and live music. The event is organized by Pro Loco Treia with the patronage of the Municipality of Treia.

Based on the usual structure of the event, expect:

- the Fermento craft beer trail through the historic center streets;
- live music every evening, with bands of various genres, DJ sets, and entertainment;

How to get there
Treia is located in the hinterland of the province of Macerata. By car, it can be reached from the SS77 Val di Chienti (Treia/Passo di Treia exit) or from the Villa Potenza-Treia expressway. The nearest train station is Macerata, from which you can continue by bus or car. The reference airport is Ancona-Falconara.
Admission and hours
Admission to the festival is free; payment is for consumption at the food stands and beer stations. The evenings generally come alive from late afternoon onwards, with the peak in the evening hours in Piazza della Repubblica.
Tips
The historic center is hilly and partly pedestrianized: it is advisable to park in the external areas and walk up. It is recommended to check the updated program and hours on the Municipality of Treia website or on the Pro Loco's channels before departing.
