About Millenni

In Preggio, an ancient hillside village, a hamlet of Umbertide in the province of Perugia, the Festival delle Culture Italiche 'Millenni' is born. Between conferences by archaeologists and historians, guided excursions to Monte Murlo and Monte Acuto, workshops and historical-food-and-wine tours, the festival combines scientific dissemination and territorial regeneration to tell the millennial roots of the Italic cultures of Umbria.

On the trail of Italic cultures

The Festival delle Culture Italiche 'Millenni' is a new cultural event that takes place in Preggio, an ancient village, a hamlet of the municipality of Umbertide, in the province of Perugia. The festival combines scientific dissemination and territorial regeneration, with the aim of recounting the millennial roots of the Italic cultures and the Umbrian territory through the eyes of scholars and archaeologists.

Conferences, excursions, and workshops

The program includes academic conferences, guided excursions on the hills surrounding the village โ€” particularly Monte Murlo and Monte Acuto, rich in archaeological traces โ€” workshops, and a historical-food-and-wine tour. Among the speakers are scholars such as Prof. Augusto Ancillotti, Prof. Luana Cencaioli, Prof. Paolo Braconi, and Prof. Duccio Lelli.

A village rediscovering its roots

Promoted by the Pro Loco Preggio with the support of the Municipality of Umbertide and the collaboration of the Museo di Santa Croce, 'Millenni' is part of a larger project for the enhancement and regeneration of the village. The initiative aims to combine scientific research with the rediscovery of the place's identity, attracting visitors and contributing to the revitalization of the ancient town's economy.
