The widespread festival that lights up Legnago with fairy tales, magic, and school creativity
The Festival della Fiaba is a widespread event that every spring transforms Legnago, in the province of Verona, into a grand open-air story. For several days, the city is filled with choirs, parades of fantastic creatures, workshops, and shows, in an event that involves squares, streets, and cultural venues.
A distinctive feature of the festival is the strong school involvement: from nursery schools to high schools, students participate with themed projects, shows, and workshops. Choirs, walks, and bike rides inspired by Pinocchio, and creative paths animate the entire educational community, making the festival an experience of growth as well as entertainment.
Each year, the festival chooses a guiding theme that inspires its program. The artistic direction curates a rich schedule of offerings for all ages, including theater, music, workshops, and outdoor activities.
The event is promoted by the Salieri Foundation together with the Fioroni Foundation, the Municipality of Legnago, local schools, and numerous public and private partners, with the support of the Veneto Region. An example of how culture can become an occasion for collective participation.
The 2026 edition of the Festival della Fiaba, dedicated to the theme "Abracadabra", animated Legnago from May 7 to 10. Four days of widespread events in the city intertwined choirs, walks, Pinocchio-themed bike rides, parades of fantastic creatures, workshops, and shows.
At the heart of the festival was the involvement of schools: nursery schools worked on magic workshops, primary schools with "Magicabula" and musical paths, lower secondary schools on shows dedicated to spells with author encounters, and high schools with parades inspired by Italo Calvino, reflections on Collodi's Pinocchio, workshops on artificial intelligence and recycling, and set designs for "Treasure Island." Among the new features were screenings from the Lumière cinema, street painters, and participation from FIAB and the Red Cross. The artistic direction was curated by Paola Bellinazzo.
Artistic direction: Paola Bellinazzo. Widespread event in the city.
