The Tredicina and the solemnity of June 13th in the Antonian sanctuaries of Camposampiero
Camposampiero (province of Padua) holds a deep connection with St. Anthony of Padua: it was here that the Saint spent the last days of his life, between the Sanctuary of the Walnut Tree — famous for the cell among the branches of the walnut tree — and the Sanctuary of the Vision. The Antonian Sanctuaries, located at Via S. Antonio 6, are still a destination for pilgrims from all over the Veneto region and beyond.
The celebrations in honour of the Saint are spread over the thirteen days of the Tredicina, which accompany the faithful and pilgrims up to the solemnity of June 13th. This is the most intense day, with a packed schedule of Holy Masses in the two sanctuaries, the entrustment of children to St. Anthony, the blessing with the relic, and the solemn city procession in the evening.
The Antonian festival in Camposampiero combines spiritual dimension and territorial identity. The procession with the statue and relic of the Saint, enlivened by popular participation, is the culmination of a tradition that draws a crowd of devotees and visitors to the heart of the Alta Padovana every year.
In 2026, the Festival of St. Anthony at the Antonian Sanctuaries of Camposampiero opens with the Tredicina from May 31st to June 12th, thirteen days of celebrations accompanying the faithful and pilgrims until the solemnity on June 13th.
The 13th will be marked by numerous Holy Masses in the Sanctuary of the Walnut Tree and the Sanctuary of the Vision, an afternoon celebration in the Oasis park with the entrustment of children to St. Anthony and the blessing with the relic, culminating in a solemn evening celebration and a procession through the city streets.
The complete and updated program is published by the Antonian Sanctuaries of Camposampiero.
Camposampiero is about 26 km from Padua, reachable by car via the SR307 and by train. The Antonian Sanctuaries are located at Via S. Antonio 6.
