The Alpini's festival on Colle Vareno

On the Colle Vareno plateau, above Angolo Terme in Valle Camonica, Province of Brescia, the Festa della Montagna has been the summer event of the "Magg. Timo Bortolotti" Alpini Group for decades. The group, named after the Angolo Terme artist and veteran who left behind works such as the sculpture of Christ the King, celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2025, and it is around these anniversaries that the Festa della Montagna represents the community's most cherished gathering moment.

Between faith, conviviality, and music

The event takes place over several days, usually around Ferragosto, and combines the typical elements of Alpine festivals:

• the holy mass, the central moment of the festival
• the food stand run by the 'penne nere' (Alpini members)
• evenings with music and entertainment
• the natural setting of the plateau, reachable on foot or along the road to Vareno

A landmark for Angolo Terme

For the Municipality of Angolo Terme, in the upper Valle Camonica, the Festa della Montagna is much more than a local festival ('sagra'); it's how the Alpini and the entire village come together at altitude, keeping alive a tradition of solidarity and mountain roots. The precise dates for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Alpini Group in the weeks leading up to summer.
