Festa dell'Emigrante di Tarzo

A festival born from the memory of emigration

The Festa dell'Emigrante of Tarzo (province of Treviso) was established in 1976 to commemorate the history of Tarzo's emigration. Between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Veneto was a land of departures towards North and South America and Australia: the festival was created during the period when many emigrants returned to their home villages in the summer, becoming a meeting point and a moment for reflection on the roots, sacrifices, and hopes of entire generations.

Culture, march, and gastronomy

The event takes place in the hamlet of Fratta di Tarzo and offers a rich calendar of cultural, musical, sporting, and gastronomic events. Among the most heartfelt moments is the Marcia dell'Emigrante, a walk open to all through the Tarzo hills, and the aperiloco which kicks off the festival. The Pro Loco Tarzo gastronomic stand accompanies the evenings with traditional dishes.

A link with Trevisani nel Mondo

The festival is organized by Pro Loco Tarzo APS with the support of the Municipality and in collaboration with the Trevisani nel Mondo section, the association that keeps the bond between the territory and its emigrants alive. An event that, for almost half a century, has intertwined historical memory and village festival in the Alta Marca Trevigiana.
