FERULA, the wellness festival in the heart of the Iblei

FERULA – International Wellness Festival is an event dedicated to mind-body well-being held in Ferla, a small village in the Province of Syracuse, Sicily, officially recognized as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. Nestled at over 550 meters above sea level in the Iblei mountains, at the gateway to the Anapo Valley and just a few kilometers from the rock necropolis of Pantalica, Ferla provides the perfect backdrop for an event that weaves together self-care, spirituality, and nature.

For an entire weekend, the village transforms into an open-air laboratory: squares, courtyards, the Auditorium, the Villetta Cappuccini, and the Holistic Center on Via del Mercato host seminars, practices, and treatments for adults and children alike. The event is organized by the Municipality of Ferla, with the participation of dozens of wellness practitioners and numerous local associations.

Disciplines and Practices

The program covers a wide range of holistic and meditative disciplines. Recurring festival offerings include:

• Yoga in its various forms, from Kundalini Yoga to sunrise Surya Namaskar;
• Sound meditation with Tibetan singing bowls and guided meditations;
• Taijiquan, Qi Gong, and mindful movement practices;
• Individual treatments such as shiatsu, reiki, foot reflexology, Kobido, Ayurvedic massage, and psycho-emotional massage;
• Readings of birth charts and Akashic Records, as well as aura and chakra cleansing.

Nature, Tradition, and Spirituality

A significant part of the festival is dedicated to the bond with the land and Iblei traditions. The schedule includes trekking and excursions in the Anapo Valley, botanical walks to discover honey-producing plants, and sensory tastings of wildflower honey, celebrating Sicilian beekeeping. Discussions such as the "East Meets West" roundtable and symbolic rituals like the Fire Ritual (Yagna) enrich the experience, accompanied by meditative concerts.

The Ferula Card

Access to activities is managed via the Ferula Card, available for a single day or the entire weekend, which includes a rejuvenating treatment of your choice. The courtyard of the Holistic Center also hosts a themed market featuring natural and artisanal products.

Now in its twelfth edition, FERULA has established itself as a benchmark for wellness in the Syracuse area, successfully uniting personal growth, deep listening, nature, and the identity of one of Sicily's most evocative villages.
