The Ferragosto of Torre de' Picenardi

Every summer, around the week of Ferragosto (August 15th), Torre de' Picenardi, a municipality in the province of Cremona, hosts its most important event: Ferragosto in Villa. The event, organized by the Pro Loco, takes place in the extraordinary setting of Villa Sommi Picenardi, a noble residence nestled in the Cremonese countryside, named after the family of the same name.

An Exceptional Setting

The villa, with its drawbridge entrance leading to a large main courtyard dominated by two large towers, is particularly famous for its park, considered one of the most renowned gardens in all of Italy in the 19th century. It is in this evocative setting that the Pro Loco sets up tables, a stage, and a dance floor, creating festive evenings that attract visitors from all over the region.

Music and Flavors

The program alternates nightly between live music — from 90s DJ sets and tribute bands of Italian music legends to groups that get the audience dancing — and typical regional cuisine, with traditional Cremonese dishes served every evening, accompanied by a bar area. Among the most cherished events is the presentation of the "Torrigiano dell'Anno" award, recognizing individuals who have distinguished themselves for the community.

A Tradition Renewed

Now in its numerous editions since its inception in 2014, Ferragosto in Villa has become a well-established tradition, successfully combining the enhancement of local historical heritage — the villa and its park — with the pleasure of a summer celebration. It is an event that tells the story of the identity of Torre de' Picenardi and the Cremonese countryside, through music, good food, and conviviality.
