The Feast of the Ancient Pieve takes place in the hamlet of Baldaria, in Cologna Veneta, in the province of Verona. Originally the Festa della Trebbiatura (Threshing Festival), it maintains a strong link with the agricultural tradition of the area: the stated goal is to remember the uses, customs, dishes, and traditions of the Venetian peasant world.
A July village festival
The event takes place in July and offers the typical evenings of a Venetian village festival: the food stand with traditional dishes, the dance floor, a charity lottery, and entertainment for all ages. It is a time when the small community of Baldaria comes together and welcomes visitors from neighboring towns.
Between history and conviviality
The reference to the Antica Pieve (Ancient Pieve) recalls the religious and civil history of this corner of the Bassa Veronese region. The festival thus combines the dimension of memory — threshing, crafts, and flavors of the past — with conviviality, with food and dancing that have always enlivened summer evenings. The organization is managed by the Circolo Noi Baldaria.
Feast of the Ancient Pieve — edition 2026
The Feast of the Ancient Pieve returns in 2026 from July 16 to 20 in the hamlet of Baldaria, Cologna Veneta. The festival, heir to the historic Threshing Festival, will again offer its program of evenings dedicated to Venetian peasant tradition.
The 2026 edition, organized by Circolo Noi Baldaria, includes a food stand with traditional dishes, a dance floor, a charity lottery, and entertainment for the whole family.
