The patronal feast of Trivigno between faith, procession, and tradition
The Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua is the main patronal feast of Trivigno, a small village in the Province of Potenza overlooking the Lucanian hills. Traditionally celebrated at the beginning of September, it is an event steeped in history and local devotion, in which the entire community gathers around its patron saint.
The festivities, organized by the Feste Committee with the Pro Loco Trivigno, alternate liturgical moments — Eucharistic celebrations and the solemn procession with the statue of the saint through the village streets — with civil events, including music, illuminations, and conviviality. Over the years, the devotion of Trivigno to Saint Anthony has also been enriched with particularly heartfelt moments, such as the reception of a relic of the saint.
The feast falls in an ideal season to discover Trivigno and the Lucanian hinterland: fresh hill air, local hospitality, and the warmth of a community that experiences its patronal feast as an identity moment. A good opportunity also to savor the traditional cuisine of inner Basilicata.

The feast traditionally spans four days (September 1-4) and includes Eucharistic celebrations, the solemn procession with the statue of Saint Anthony of Padua through the village streets, and evening civil events with music and entertainment.
